Health and Safety Awareness (HSA)

This Site Safety Plus course is for you if you’re considering, or already, working within the construction and civil engineering industry.
Overview
This course highlights potential hazards when working on site and provides practical advice on keeping yourself and your colleagues safe. It covers your individual and employer’s responsibilities, including what you can do if you think anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk.

At the end of the course you will have an understanding of:
the need to prevent accidents
health and safety law
how your role fits into the control and management of the site
risk assessments and method statements
performing safely and asking for advice
how to report unsafe acts to prevent an accident
Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date.

Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme (SEATS)

This one day interactive course has been developed for site supervisors/managers with the aim of providing candidates with an introduction to environmental issues on construction sites.
Overview
It is designed to meet the basic environmental knowledge that the sub-contract chain are required to prove to major contractors, and covers the environmental aspects of the new HS&E touch screen test. The course will bring the candidates environmental and sustainability knowledge up to date by giving a thorough overview of the subject, relevant legislation and industry best practice.

It will enable them to identify, control and minimise the environmental impacts of their work and where possible identify environmental improvement opportunities.

Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date.

CITB Handheld Disc Cutting Safety in Construction

This course is tailored for individuals who may need to choose and install an abrasive or diamond wheel for the operation of petrol-driven cut-off saws (PDCOS) or battery/electric-powered tools like grinders. It is also suitable for those seeking to refresh their knowledge and skills in compliance with relevant regulations and the practical use of abrasive wheels in the workplace.

Site Management Safety Training Course
SMSTS

This 5 day course is for people who are, or will be, responsible for managing work on construction sites safely.
You will require a computer with good broadband and a video and audio enabled webcam to take part.
You need to be competent in reading, writing and conversing in English.

Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)

The Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) is a comprehensive training program designed to equip site supervisors with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure the safety of workers on construction sites. The program covers a wide range of topics, including risk assessment, health and safety legislation, and accident prevention. By completing the SSSTS, site supervisors can demonstrate their commitment to creating a safe and secure working environment for all workers on.
You will require a computer with video and audio enabled webcam to take part.
You need to be competent in reading, writing and conversing in English.

Temporary Works Coordinator Course

This two-day course is for those on site with responsibility for managing all forms of temporary works.
It is designed to give confidence to senior management and those who engage with contractors.
You will require a computer with good broadband and a video and audio enabled webcam to take part.
You need to be competent in reading, writing and conversing in English.

CITB Abrasive Wheels Theory Training

The Construction Training Group is designed to impart comprehensive knowledge about the hazards and risks linked with the use of abrasive wheels. Participants will gain a clear understanding of their responsibilities as per the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER). The training will focus on the safe mounting of abrasive wheels and discs on portable machinery, equipping attendees with the necessary skills to operate the equipment safely.

CITB Hand Arm Vibration Awareness Course

This course is tailored for individuals who are exposed to workplace vibrations that can lead to irreversible health effects. It's also ideal for those requiring a refresher on relevant regulations. The training is suitable for operatives, supervisors, and management personnel.

This CITB-accredited course meets the Approved Training Organization (ATO) Standards and is eligible for the Skills and Training Fund Grant.
